Cybersecurity Lab
Symmetric Cryptosystem with a High Level of Confidentiality and Productivity
The Project proposed by IIAP poses the ambitious task of creating a new cryptographic system that will surpass existing cryptosystems in terms of confidentiality and productivity.
In fact, this is an extremely complex and ambiguous task, which may be will not be possible to solve in full at this stage.
Nevertheless, this research will be extremely useful from an academic point of view to expand understanding of the fundamental problems of cryptography and find ways to solve them.
The knowledge and experience gained through this will certainly be useful for training specialists in cybersecurity.
Partial but highly useful solution might be to create a cryptosystem, which is not possible to crack by using known methods of cryptanalysis.
The main expected result of the Project will be a new cryptosystem that will be useful to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data at the user level in the widest class of digital systems.
Potential users of the Project result can be any specialist who is interested in ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of his data.
The creation of cryptosystems, as in the case of most cybersecurity tasks, usually involves a fairly large number of independent specialists, each of which solves a separate technical problem. Combining all these solutions into a common cryptographic system is a task of a higher level, which is more appropriate to leave to the moderator.
Nevertheless, it seems reasonable, primarily from an educational point of view, to work in pairs, one of which is engaged in cryptanalysis and the other is creating cryptosystem itself.
In accordance with this, the laboratory will have 8 working desks for pairs, with 2 computers on each of them.
