Modeling and Digital Content Lab
The Project proposed by Compass LLC and relates to technical research and education in many areas, such as power engineering, chemistry, nuclear engineering, biology and many others, where conducting natural experiments with real equipment and materials is very dangerous or unacceptably expensive. Digitalization in these areas, associated with the use of digital modelling of processes and the creation of object models in the form of digital content, can be a real alternative in academic research. At the same time, gamification and virtual reality technologies can provide a significantly higher level of model adequacy, ensuring the perception of objects and processes as close to reality as possible.
The main expected results of this Project will be user-friendly methods and tools that will substantially simplify the procedures for creating digital models and make them accessible to researchers and teachers of relevant subject areas.
Potential users of the Project results can be any researchers and teachers not only from the above outlined areas, but also others who are interested in increasing the visibility and attractiveness of the research and subject content.
It is productive to conduct such research and development in small teams, optimally consisting of 5 people, each of which will have its own consultant from researchers of IIAP or Compass LLC. In the laboratory it is convenient to have 3 small teams at the same time, which can perform various tasks, but in special cases they can perform the same task creating for the moderator the ability to choose the best solution. In accordance with this, the laboratory will have 3 working desks for teams, with 5 computers on each of them, since it is assumed that the consultants will use their own mobile devices.
